Tokyo Locale: Victorious at 20 Years of God’s Glorious Work
Despite of the storm threat the night before, God’s marvelous work was revealed again as the Pentecostal Missionary Church of Christ (4th Watch) Tokyo Locale successfully celebrated their 20th Church Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service last July 28, 2019 at their very own house of worship in Koto-Ku Kitasuna, Tokyo, Japan. With the theme, “Victoriously Celebrating Two Decades of God’s Glorious Work”, the event was even more blessed to have Pastor and Presbyter June Alano as their keynote speaker.
The celebration began with the Sunday School Service where Sister Abygail Yachida led the crowd in jubilant singing unto the Lord. Then, the message of God was powerfully ministered by Presbyter June Alano focusing on “Our expression of Thanksgiving unto the Lord” from Psalms 116:12-14. He stressed that God wants us to express our praise and thanksgiving for all His goodness and that He demands a grateful response. He also exemplified the life of Job, Joseph, and David, concluding that God delights in our thankfulness and pours out His Spirit and favor over those who give honor and gratitude to Him.
As the celebration went on, the Divine Worship commenced with a live Song and Dance performance entitled “Rejoice” that uplifted the spirits of the crowd. It was then followed by the entrance of the ministers and program partakers. Sister Mariviv Calalo spearheaded the Worship Service as the Master of Ceremonies, while Sister Jazzie Okubo with the Tokyo Praise and Worship Team led the congregation in the soulful songs of praises unto the Lord. Sister Jobelle Alina led everyone in a fervent and heartfelt Opening Prayer. Afterwards, Pastor Donald Abanto, Minister from South Korea led the Reading of the Scriptures. Then, he rendered a Song of Praise unto the Lord.
Pastor Maya Cruz, Japan District Coordinator and Tokyo Locale Head Minister warmly welcomed the congregation in her heartwarming Welcome Remarks. Thereafter, an Interpretative Dance of the song “What a Beautiful Name” was rendered by selected brethren to even magnify the name of the Lord. It was then followed by an audio-visual presentation that featured “Tokyo Local Church’s Timeline”. From its humble beginnings up to now, God never failed to show His grace and mercy that He made everything possible for His Church.
In the Message of Giving, Presbyter June Alano focused on reminding everyone that we should set our minds on things above and not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2) and not to put our hope in wealth for it is uncertain, but to put our hope in God, who richly provides us with everything (1 Timothy 6:7). Then, he concluded by saying “Pag may sakripisyo ka, ang Dios ay hindi liko upang limutin ang iyong gawa” (Hebrews 6:10).
Thereafter, a medley rendition of the song “More Love, More Power” was offered unto the Lord by Tokyo Locale Choir.
After the Introduction of the Keynote Speaker by Pastor Maya Cruz, the Message of God was once again powerfully ministered by Presbyter June Alano, Head Minister of Camarin Locale and Goshen Area Coordinator in the Philippines. His message was centered on the theme “Victoriously Celebrating Two Decades of God’s Glorious Work”. He emphasized that we should always remember the wonders and miracles God did in our lives. He even said that these must be the key reasons why we give our Thanksgiving unto the Lord and why we do our best in serving Him.
Thereafter, blessed by the Words of God, the brethren and some visitors and guests gave their Thanksgiving Offering unto the Lord. Then, Pastor Maya Cruz led the Altar Call. It was astonishing to see how God moved the hearts of the visitors in accepting Jesus as their Savior. Before the Worship concluded, brethren who reached 10 years in faith were recognized and awarded for their unwavering support and exemplary service unto the Lord.
The joyous celebration continued in the afternoon wherein selected adult, youth and cadets showcased their God-given talents through a Gospel Concert and a Raffle Draw that added in the excitement of the crowd. Capping off the event, the brethren delightedly distributed Filipino snacks to everyone before they went home.
Truly, this momentous celebration will be a remarkable milestone in remembering God’s glorious work in the End-Time Church. To God be all the glory!
